How Yobiz checks businesses
Yobiz is a South African business directory. Each page shows what has been checked about that business, and the date.
Who runs Yobiz
Yobiz is built and run by Yireh Business Solutions, 364 Kings Hwy, Lynnwood, Pretoria. Yireh also lists its own business on Yobiz, and it doesn't pay itself for that page or for a Featured spot.
What's on Yobiz today
31,604 businesses across 138 trades and 3,002 areas. 31,592 of them have passed a check or been confirmed by their owner.
What each check means
Website check passed. A program read the business's own website. The site was up, wasn't parked or for sale, and showed the phone number on the Yobiz page. Many of these sites also showed a 2025 or 2026 date, but not all of them, and that date can be as small as the year in the footer. This shows the business was reachable online on that day. It doesn't show that the work is good, that the prices are fair or that the business holds a licence.
A person answered the phone. Someone at Yobiz phoned the number on the date shown, and a person answered and said the business is trading.
The owner confirmed the details. The owner claimed the page with an email address that belongs to the business, or Yobiz confirmed the details with them.
Company or licence checked. Someone at Yobiz looked up the company registration, the licence or both, on the date shown. The page says which.
Customers have reviewed them. Reviews only appear on pages with a paid plan, and we read each one before it goes up.
Every check is true on its date. A business can change after that, so look at the date.
Pages with no tick
A business added by its owner goes up after an emailed code. The page says it was added by the owner, and it has no tick until something has really been checked. A few older listings from before we began checking have no tick either.
Paying can't buy a check
Paid plans add extras such as a WhatsApp button, your own photos, reviews, your prices and a Featured spot. They never change what we show as checked, and Featured spots are always labelled.
Where the details come from
Pages nobody has claimed use public business details from Overture Maps open data, with street maps and suburb names from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors). We don't take emails, photos, reviews or wording from other sites. Photos on unclaimed pages are illustrations, and they're labelled.
Correcting or removing a page
If it's your business, find your page and claim it for free to correct it. If you don't want a page, use the Remove link at the bottom of it, and we won't add it again. If you've found a wrong number or a business that has closed, tell us or email info@yobiz.co.za.
